I believe it is
customary for me to introduce myself and give ya'll (yes, sometimes an accent is
necessary, and no, I will not refrain) a bit of history and background and of course a
personal commentary.
When horseowners meet...
Having been in the industry for many years I have always
been astounded by how much horse people love to talkÉ about horsesÉ and I find it
fascinating how every conversation seems to start with the exact same 5 questions
(and please let me know if IÕve missed any): 1) What do you ride? (IÕll provide
translation for those of you who may not be horse peopleÉRead: which discipline do
you ride the most? English? Western? etc) 2) What is your horse? (Read: what
breed? And can often be expanded toÉ what color, what size, what age, what shape,
what she likes to do, likes to eat, the names of her pasture mates, the funny think he
did yesterday, and the day before that, and Éwell you get the idea 3) Who is your
trainer? (Read: person who trains you and sometimes your horse) 4) who is your
farrier? (Read: who trims/puts shoes on your horseÕs feet?) 5) and last but not least,

median private boarding facility that didnÕt have everything, but had more than
many others that was reasonably priced. The longer and longer I worked in the
industry and traveled from farm to farm the more I realized that horse owners often
aired their frustrations about finding places to keep their horses that offered all that
they wanted, while barn owners shared theirs about finding quality boarders. There
seemed to be a large disconnect: why couldnÕt these places find one another? Since
then it became my passion to create the universal one stop resource for barns to
